Arizona lawmakers spent more than 130 days in session this year, and the last several days were fairly contentious at the Capitol, with negotiations over the budget and other bills heating up.

Many of those last-minute talks took place in the Arizona Senate, where a handful of Republicans withheld their votes on the budget until other priorities moved ahead.

The Show spoke with Senate President Karen Fann in her office and started the conversation by asking, now that she’s had a couple of weeks to decompress from the session, how she would describe the legislature’s 2019 term.

In the near future, The Show will hear from House Minority Leader Charlene Fernandez, to get her thoughts on the 2019 legislative session.
