Two days ago, we marked Veterans Day to honor those who have served in the U.S. military, but many who return from service find themselves, for a number of reasons, without a place to live, other than on the streets or in a park.

A huge effort is underway to eliminate veteran homelessness in Phoenix. On Tuesday, the Phoenix City Council approved $100,000 in the attempt to end chronic homelessness among veterans.

Mike McQuaid, member of the board of directors for the Human Services Campus, talked about that effort and other aspects of homelessness. He was formerly managing director at Human Services Campus.

Sean Price, homeless veterans services coordinator at the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, also discussed this issue.
