The Mesa City Council approved Monday a $1 billion development plan to bring a Google data center to the city. If Google moves forward with the deal, the facility will occupy the northwest corner of Elliot and Sossaman roads and span 187 acres.

But, according to The Arizona Republic, the deal includes a property tax break of $16 million over the next 25 years. And the City of Mesa expects the data center to contribute about $61 million to the city via taxes in that time.

So, what will this data center look like? And what will it mean for the region’s growing tech sector?
