A Fourth of July celebration in Marana, north of Tucson, stopped suddenly when a fire broke out.

Crystal Kasnoff, with the Northwest Fire Department, says they do not regret stopping the fireworks show.

“If there would have been additional sparks that would have created other fires it could have been worse. So the right decision was made to stop the fireworks and get that under control and get the smoke under control as well,” said Kasnoff.

She says that show operators do not know the exact cause of the fire, but does believe it was caused by the fireworks. She says they believe the fire sparked just south of where the fireworks are launched.
