A pair of cold fronts moving through Arizona in the next few days could create hazardous driving conditions, according to the Department of Transportation. ADOT spokesman Doug Pacey says drivers need to know how to handle the adverse weather conditions,

 “If they see dust, don’t drive into it,” Pacey said. “If you encounter a dust storm, or if a dust storm kind of engulfs you without any warning, look around your vehicle, make sure you can slow down, pull off to the side of the road and stay there.”

Pacey says ADOT is particularly concerned with the potential for blinding storms on I-10, between Phoenix and Tucson, on I-8 between Yuma and Casa Grande, and on I-40, between Flagstaff and Holbrook. A fast-moving storm last month triggered a dust cloud near Picacho Peak that took three lives and injured about a dozen people.
