Monte on his adoption day

STEVE GOLDSTEIN: Mark, we’ve heard those legendary stories: a movie director walks by and they find their next movie star. Of course, it didn't happen to you this time, but it happened to another Arizonan.

MARK BRODIE: Indeed, “Monte” was picked to be one of the lead stars in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake “Lady and the Tramp.” The 2-year-old terrier mix was rescued by HALO Animal Rescue last year. Hollywood scouts fell in love with the friendly mutt.

GOLDSTEIN: I, too, like spaghetti and meatballs, but I guess he was really the pick of the litter this time.

BRODIE: This dog is ... certainly getting his day. Woof.
