All public schools in Flagstaff are closed today because the district is dealing with a cybersecurity issue.

Spokesperson Zachery Fountain said they found ransomware in the district computer system.

“We moved pretty quickly to bring in some cyber security experts to evaluate our systems," he said. "We had to go offline and take all of our school facilities off of internet access.”

He said the system couldn’t function while they were troubleshooting the problem. The district will decide later today if school will remain closed on Friday.
