Gun control activists are holding a rally to end gun violence in Washington, D.C., Wednesday afternoon. The coalition includes March For Our Lives, Newtown Action Alliance, Amnesty International and dozens of other groups.

Demonstrating in solidarity with them in Phoenix is Jacob Martinez of Arizonans for Gun Safety. March for our Lives Arizona will be at the Release the Fear Statue in downtown Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. and the group is calling for universal background checks, red flag laws and safe storage laws.

The Show spoke with Martinez about the action.

Democratic state Rep. Jennifer Longdon uses a wheelchair as a result of a shooting and will be testifying on Capitol Hill on Thursday in front of the U.S. House Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee on the public health consequences and costs of gun violence.

The Show also spoke with her about the issue.
