The private equity firm that owns Phoenix-based PetSmart took a gamble in 2017 by buying an online competitor that was eating into its sales.

The purchase of Chewy.com was scorned by market analysts at the time. But now, two and a half years later, the pairing of the companies is seen as a striking success. 

To talk about this, The Show spoke with reporter Miriam Gottfried who wrote about it in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal.
