ASU's Prison Education Program Teaches Inmates About Geology, Astronomy

Inmates at the Eyman State Prison in Florence, Arizona are getting the chance to learn something most of us don’t know very much about: geology and astronomy.

It’s one of the newest subjects offered through ASU’s Prison Education Program, which started because a group of students learned about the challenges facing inmates and wanted to do something to help.

The Show talked to ASU planetary geology master's student Hannah Bercovici and Grace Carlson, a graduate student in geological sciences, about their motivation.
