As Top 3 Democrats Take The Debate Stage, How Can The Others Stand Out?

Tuesday night, a dozen Democratic presidential candidates will stand on stage near Columbus, Ohio, in an attempt to attract support for their campaigns.

At this point, three of them — Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren — are consistently drawing polling numbers that indicate they have grabbed a fairly significant part of the Democratic electorate.

So what can the others do to gain ground during the debate? How much control do they have and how much is influenced by the television production and the moderators?

To talk about that, The Show spoke with Christina Bellantoni, who is director of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
