As construction along Mill Avenue for the Tempe Streetcar continues, so do the road closures.

The intersection of Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway will be closed for the last weekend of October as construction workers finish repaving in preparation for track installation. The closure is scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and last until Monday, Oct. 28, 5 a.m.

Orbit shuttle services will also face detours during the closure with the Earth east and westbound routes shifted to avoid the intersection.

Pedestrian access to sidewalks will be slightly impacted, with some detours in place and cyclists seeking to cross the intersection on the street will be unable to.

Rio Salado Parkway will also be closed between Ash and Mill avenues on Oct. 26 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
