How easy or difficult is it to open and run a business in more than 100 North American cities? A new report from Arizona State University aims to answer that question.

The "Doing Business North America" study is based on a broader study implemented by the World Bank for nearly two decades, which considers cities across the globe. This more regional study looks at factors that include the rules that govern starting a business, the ease of registering property, getting electricity and taxes in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

It found the easiest North American city in which to do business is Oklahoma City while Phoenix ranks 20th — just behind Nashville and just ahead of Manchester, New Hampshire.

The report comes from the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty at ASU. Stephen Slivinski, senior research fellow there, joined The Show to talk more about this project.
