Davis-Monthan Air Force Base officials will take a saw to the tail of the final B-52Gbomber being eliminated under the New START Treaty on Thursday.

The saw will sever the bomber’s tail section from its fuselage. That will make the plane the 39th eliminated under the treaty and will be the last one the treaty requires.

The treaty between the U.S. and Russia limits the number of deployed warheads.
