A Ring video doorbell captured this package theft in Phoenix. Timestamps show that the Amazon package was stolen within two minutes of being delivered.

They are called "porch pirates," the people sometimes seen in grainy doorbell camera videos stealing packages delivered to doorways.

A recent New York Times analysis estimates 1.7 million packages are stolen in America every day, and the United States Postal Service is expecting 800 million packages to ship between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

The Show spoke with Dan Grossenbach, U.S. Postal Inspector for the Phoenix Division, more about how we keep our packages safe this holiday season and how we got here to begin with.
