The CDC has confirmed the first person to person transmission of novel coronavirus in The United States. The new case is in Illinois and is the spouse of a patient who recently traveled to China.

This moves the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. to six people with others under investigation. The CDC said the risk to the general public remains low.  

“It's important to note that this spread was among two people who were in close contact for an extended period of time,” said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. 

There are no new reported cases in Arizona, according to state health authorities.
