The U.S. Senate on Friday voted 51 to 49 not to allow additional witness testimony in the impeachment trial of President Trump.

The vote was largely split along party lines with two exceptions.

ASU law professor Paul Bender said he doesn’t think former National Security Advisor John Bolton would’ve changed many minds anyhow.

“He’s not going to contribute any facts that we don’t already know. So, I don’t think the people are going to get really upset about not having that evidence," Bender siad.

Republican Sen. Martha McSally voted against hearing additional witness testimony, while Democratic Sen. Krysten Sinema voted in favor.

Only two Republican senators crossed party lines to vote in favor. Those were Mitt Romney of Utah and Susan Collins of Maine.
