State Library Awards $540K To Arizona Libraries

PHOENIX — The State Library has awarded nearly $541,000 of grants to 24 county and municipal library systems in Arizona.

Programs funded by the grant include ones for early literacy and tutoring, support for English as a second language education and spaces for science, technology/multimedia, engineering, arts, and math.

Pima County got the largest award for $70,000, followed by grants to Scottsdale and Glendale for nearly $68,000 and just over $64,000 respectively, while Pinal County got a $49,000 grant.

Recipients of smaller grants included Avondale, Buckeye, Camp Verde, Casa Grande, Eloy, Florence, Greenlee County, Holbrook, Huachuca City and Maricopa County.

The remaining recipients were Maricopa, Mesa, Mohave County, Navajo County, Patagonia, Prescott Valley, Show Low, Tempe, Yavapai County and Yuma County.
