Ads Featuring Nurses Criticize Trump Administration's Response To Coronavirus

Two political action committees have teamed up to launch digital and cable TV ads in Arizona featuring the plight of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sandy Redding is an operating room nurse for 30 years in Bakersfield, California. She is featured in one ad saying the health care system isn’t prepared for the scale of this pandemic and criticizing the Trump administration.

“The administration could have prepared months ago, weeks ago, days ago, any of which would have been better than what we have now.  But they scoffed at the warning signs and now nurses like me are taking huge personal risks and that’s going to impact you,” Redding said.

The ad from National Nurses United and the Be A Hero PAC ends with Redding saying without protective gear she risks contracting COVID-19 and would be one less health care professional on the frontlines of this crisis.
