The coronavirus has created a new reality for law enforcement. Sworn to “protect and serve," officers must now protect themselves in ways they never trained for, all while still protecting the citizens and communities they serve.

Police officers have to deal with the same worries about the virus when it comes to people we care about. But they have a second level, too, based on how much public contact they are required to have. So what are the new complications of the job?

Charles Katz is a professor in the ASU School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. He joined The Show to talk about it.
