Ads such as this one in Chicago could increase tourism in Arizona.

An ad from the Arizona Department of Tourism is getting a lot of attention in Chicago, in the wake of this week’s "polar vortex." The four story billboard shows a woman’s bare feet and flip-flops crushing cars in a parking lot below. Tourism Director Sherrie Henry said the timing of the ad, planned months ago, could not have been better, and she said the next one, due to hit late next month or in early March will also get a lot of attention.

“What it is is a vehicle puts video up on the side of buildings, particularly like at special events. You’re downtown in Chicago, you may see this, this vehicle drive by and on the side of that building will be these great images of Arizona," said Henry.

Henry said the $200,000 cost of the campaign was a great investment and is getting a lot of attention nationwide and in Chicago, the top cold-weather city for tourists coming to Arizona.
