The number of people registered to vote in Arizona is on the rise.

There are about 20,000 more registered voters than in October. The Secretary of State’s Office says while the numbers for the major political parties stayed about the same, those not affiliated with a party increased by nearly 25,000, to about 1.12 million.

That means almost the same number of people have registered without a party affiliation as are registered Republicans

The GOP has the state’s largest voting block at 1.13 million. The state has about 963,000 registered Democrats.  Members of the Libertarian, Green and Americans Elect parties represent about 1 percent of the state electorate.
