Father, sons suspected in shooting of ICE agent

A father and two of his sons are believed to have shot a federal agent in TexasPedro Alvarado and his son, 18-year-old Arnoldo, are charged with shooting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who was monitoring a possible drug deal Tuesday in Hidalgo County, near the Mexican border.

According to court documents, Pedro drove, while Arnoldo and another son – a minor – shot at the agent. The agent is recovering from surgery.

The Alvarados were arrested at a home in Hargill, Texas, and charged with assaulting a federal officer and using a firearm during a violent crime. The adults will stay in jail at least until their next hearing, scheduled for Tuesday. The minor involved was turned over to state authorities.
