Chief Garcia of the Phoenix Police sadly places another streamer. Each one represents a fallen officer, too many to count.

The police dispatcher who was on duty when Detective John Hobbs was shot and killed last week made a final radio call on Monday afternoon as the officer's body arrived at a North Phoenix cemetery.

"India 8-20 is 10-7. Good night sir, you will be deeply missed. Rest in peace. Frequency cleared 14-13," the dispatcher said.

A final radio dispatch is customary at police funerals when an officer is killed on duty. Hobbs was a 21-year police veteran and part of a unit that focused on apprehending violent criminals. He was buried at the Phoenix Memorial Park.
