Mesa will swear in a new mayor Monday. He’s city council member Alex Finter. 

Finter takes the post after Mayor Scott Smith resigned to run for governor. 

Since Finter is becoming interim mayor, Mesa is searching for someone in the city’s second district to temporarily fill his seat. Applicants must have lived in the district for two years.
