More than 120,000 Arizonans used the Marketplace to get insurance last year.

More than 120,000 Arizonans signed up for health coverage through the Affordable Care Act federal marketplace, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Kim VanPelt is with St. Luke’s Health Initiative, which was part of a statewide effort to enroll people through the marketplace.

“This first year we estimate that about a quarter of those who are eligible for the marketplace were enrolled,” said VanPelt.

VanPelt said she expects it to take about five years to get health coverage for all of the uninsured in Arizona. She said navigators are already planning for the next open enrollment period starting in November.
