Man uses hostage in bank robbery attempt

The FBI is looking for a man who allegedly tried to rob a local bank. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Lynn Kelly reports.

A Phoenix Bank of America employee was taken hostage by a man at her home last Friday night and brought to the bank the following morning before other employees arrived.

The FBI says the suspect placed a device around her neck that looked like a bomb but was found not to be an explosive. As other employees arrived at the bank, the suspect waited outside but eventually drove away.

FBI spokesman Manuel Johnson says the man is now a "person of interest" in the attempted robbery.

The bank is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to convictions.
