Phoenix Voters Asked To Reform Pensions

This fall, Phoenix residents will have the opportunity to vote on the Phoenix Pension Reform Act. Supporters say it will put the city’s finances on more solid ground, in part by overhauling the current system and replacing it with a 401k-style retirement system for new city employees.

We spoke to former City Councilman Tom Simplot about his opposition to the plan. Simplot is leading the group Phoenix Citizens for Pension Responsibility.
