Look for the winds to pick up Friday across Arizona. Meteorologist Robert Rickey of the National Weather Service in Flagstaff says with the low humidity continuing, the potential for wildfires is high.

“There’s also a chance for some type of some dry thunderstorms, really along the Arizona-New Mexico border,” Rickey said.

He says a red flag warning is in effect, with virtually no moisture coming into the state, and winds possibly gusting to as high as 40 miles an hour.
