Arizona State University has opened an outreach center in Santa Monica, Calif. to
attract residents of that state to Arizona.
Spokesman James O'Brien says the center will also benefit ASU alumni.
“Probably our largest alumni association chapter is in
Los Angeles and
so it provides a place where not only employees of the university but
volunteers and alumni and friends of the university can engage,” O’Brien said.
O'Brien says the new center offers enhanced academic
and internship experience for current students. Right now, over 5,000 ASU
students are from California.
The university hopes the outreach center will help expand its California student population.
