The town of Marana may develop its own tourism bureau.

The Marana Town Council could not reach an agreement with the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau. Council members voted Tuesday to seek other options to promote tourism. Town Manager Gilbert Davidson told the Arizona Daily Star, it would have cost the town almost $1 million in fees to join the Metriopolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau.
