The Secretary of Homeland Security will be in Nogales, Ariz. on Wednesday. Secretary Jeh Johnson told a Congressional hearing Tuesday he would be visiting the processing center where hundreds of undocumented minors are being held.

Most of the children are from Central America and were captured along the Texas- Mexico border. The Border Patrol transferred the children to Nogales because they ran out of space in Texas.

Arizona Rep. Ron Barber told Johnson that he and local officials were not initially notified of the transfers.

"It shouldn’t have happened that way. The Congressional delegation and local officials should have been notified, that this situation necessitated that we extend our processing to Nogales," Johnson said. "And I’ve instructed my staff that when we have to go to these places we give the Congressional delegation and local officials information about that."

More than 52,000 children from Central America have been detained this fiscal year trying to sneak into the United States. Most of the detainees are from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
