Arizona could see some more thunderstorms this week, especially in the northern and southern sections of the state. But, meteorologist Gary Zell of the National Weather Service said the corridor between Tucson and Phoenix could see big dust storms as early as Wednesday.

“If the storms align themselves just right, we haven’t had any rain for quite some time, ground and soil is dry so they could definitely pick up some dust Thursday afternoon and again Friday,” Zell said.

Zell said the dust-prone area just outside Tucson, through Casa Grande and into Phoenix could face the possibility of a major dust storm today or tomorrow.
