TUSD to layoff more than 150

May 08, 2013

The Tucson Unified School District will be giving pink slips to more than 150 employees. The district's Governing Board approved the layoffs Tuesday night. End of the year layoffs are common, but as the Arizona Daily Star reports, the number of employees being severed this year is more than in the past two years combined. The cuts are part of TUSD's attempt to close a projected $17 million budget deficit.
