The Arizona Department of Transportation is renovating the rest stop at the bottom of the Salt River Canyon along U.S. Route 60. That’s the route many Valley travelers take to get to Show Low.

The stop was closed in 2009 when the state shut down rest areas across the state due to lack of funding.

The site will be maintained by a private entity through a partnership with ADOT. The rest area will re-open in the fall.
