Olympic swimmer Amy Van Dyken-Rouen has been released from a Colorado hospital. This comes two months after an accident in Arizona left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Van Dyken-Rouen is ready to come home to Arizona, but will stay in Colorado until September. The six-time gold medalist calls herself the “wheelie queen” and said she feels “1,000 times” better after her rehabilitation at Craig Hospital near Denver.

While there, she learned how to drive her wheelchair with hand controls, dress herself and pick up things off the floor. She also went boating, climbed into a kayak and visited the zoo. Van Dyken-Rouen damaged her spinal cord in an ATV accident near Show Low June 6.
