Tonto National Forest issues a warning for July Fourth visitors
June 26, 2013
The Tonto National Forest is reminding people who may be out in the woods over the Fourth of July holiday that fire conditions are now extreme. Forest spokesman David
Albo said that means no fires, incendiary devices, fireworks or
shooting.
"We have
electric signs with information on fire restrictions along the highway
and also at every campground. Every developed campground has signs as
well," Albo said.
Fines for violations of the fire policy can range from $5,000 to $10,000, with a six month jail term.
