One of Arizona’s most dedicated animal shelter volunteers has died.  Marge Wright hosted the local TV show “Pets On Parade” for more than four decades.

Wright was a familiar face to many Arizonans. She was the friendly host of “Pets on Parade” at KTVK-TV in Phoenix from the mid 1960s until her retirement in 2011.

Wright died Tuesday night at age 89.

Arizona Humane Society spokeswoman Ashleigh Goebel said Wright performed 7,000 hours of volunteer service at the animal shelter.

"She was a huge animal advocate. A huge supporter of all we do at the Arizona Humane Society and she was just a dear friend to us all. She was like family and she leaves quite a legacy,” Goebel said.

Goebel said a special broadcast of “Pets on Parade” featuring Wright’s work over the years will be broadcast on Channel 3 this Saturday.
