Four people were arrested outside a Phoenix McDonald’s restaurant yesterday, as fast food workers demanded an increase in the minimum wage and the right to unionize. The Phoenix protest was one of dozens around the country, as workers demanded a 15-dollar-an-hour wage. Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva, who joined the Phoenix protest, spoke out for a livable wage for the fast food workers,

“If you want to save this economy, make it better than we need to pay people decently and we need to give people an opportunity to go on with their lives without having to live from one paycheck to another," Grijalva said.

25-year-old Autumn O’Donnell, who works at a Jack in the Box restaurant in Tucson, says the reality in 2014 is that people working in fast food, are working families and need the higher wages to make ends meet.
