Parenting College Equips Parents To Prepare Children For School

August 05, 2013

A Community Education Report said 53 percent of children entering kindergarten in Coconino County are not ready for school, and it said that has significant implications for future educational achievement. In response, the county's superintendent of schools has started a parenting college.

The Arizona Daily Sun said the free Parenting College will start this fall and will be open to expectant parents or parents of children with kids 5 years old or younger. Classes will include discussions on brain development, discipline, safety and quality child care.
