Father Whose Son Died In A Hot Car Appears In Court Friday

August 30, 2013

Daniel Gray, 31, made an initial court appearance on manslaughter and child abuse charges today.

Police believe he was smoking pot with friends when his 3-month-old son, Jamison, was outside in the parked car, in 100 degree temperatures.

During the court session, the county attorney’s office said Gray didn’t intend for his son to die, but likened the death to an inattentive drunk driver who causes a crash that kills someone.

Gray has a criminal record that includes convictions for possession of marijuana and aggravated DUI.  He does not yet have an attorney.
