Frontier Airlines To Be Sold

October 01, 2013

The former head of America West Airlines is leading a group that’s buying a Denver-based airline. William Franke’s group, Indigo Partners, will buy Frontier Airlines for about $145 million. The purchase is contingent on reaching agreements with the Association of Flight Attendants and others by the end of the month.

It also depends on other commercial agreements, and the receipt of some consents and approval from the Federal Communications Commission for the transfer of Frontier's radio licenses.

The deal has been approved by Frontier’s parent company and is expected to close in December, if all of the conditions are met. Frontier flies in several cities in Arizona, including Phoenix, Kingman, Show Low, Prescott and Page.
