Arizona’s attorney general joined 32 other states investigating Equifax after the company’s recent massive data breach exposed millions of consumers personal information.

Mark Brnovich signed on to a letter with many other, bipartisan attorneys general investigating Equifax’s actions.

One concern is how Equifax continues to market fee-based credit-monitoring services to affected consumers. The letter asks the company disable links to those paid services until the free service period is over.

In a statement, Brnovich calls for a thorough investigation of how the breach occurred, why it took so long to publicly announce it, and what protections were in place to stop it.

Consumers can freeze their credit reports with Equifax or other reporting agencies.
