Vik Muniz used liquid chocolate and droppers to reproduce Caravaggio's iconic painting "The Entombment of Christ."

The photographer Vik Muniz has become known for the double meanings in his photos. He has shaped cotton to look like clouds. Or stenciled chocolate to look like famous paintings.

He splits his time between Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Brooklyn, New York. We met with him this week at the Phoenix Museum of Art. He told us about a time he traveled to Southern Arizona to work on a large-scale image.

Muniz's work is also the subject of the award-winning documentary "Waste Land," which is being screened free of charge at the Phoenix Art Museum this weekend. It's also part of an exhibit on Brazilian art being held at the museum through the end of the year.
