Many Arizona schools were closed for the fourth day in a row as teachers walked on the Capitol, but not all. Vail School District near Tucson re-opened Tuesday.

Some Vail parents think the school should still be closed and kept their students out of school in solidarity with the statewide walkout.

Jackie Chavez moved her students from Tucson to Vail schools because of the better school performance, but thinks now is a time to keep them home.

“It felt like the bully is taking our lunch money from us, forcing us to do something we don’t want to do," Chavez said about the superintendent's choice to open the school. "It felt like a violation. As a parent it felt like a violation of everything we’re trying to do.”

Attendance numbers show 90 percent of the 12,800 Vail students came to class.
