Vice President Mike Pence visited the Phoenix area on a tax policy tour on Tuesday.

Pence arrived at Phoenix Marriott at the Buttes in Tempe where he addressed about 500 supporters.

Overall, Pence came to Arizona to tout the new tax ban while also rallying the base and having a round-table discussion with small business owners.

Pence emphasized giving corporations tax cuts, explaining that companies would, in turn, give their employees bonuses and higher wages. Along with these tax cuts, Pence addressed other Republican talking points including building the wall and sending more national guard troops.

There were also some past and present politicos attending the tour including former Gov. Jan Brewer, Gov. Doug Ducey, Andy Biggs and former Sheriff Joe Arpaio who Pence called, "a good friend of the president and a tireless champion of the rule of law."

This is despite the court ruling that Arpaio violated the constitutional rights of the citizens of Maricopa County and disobeyed a judge’s order to stop.

Pence also acknowledged the leadership of Sen. John McCain, who Trump famously disparaged.

During the rally, Pence asked the room of supporters to go tell their friends about the economic success the country is having, especially in the run up to the midterms, and he asked them to pray for the country.
