Law Professor: DACA Situation 'A Mess' With New Lawsuit Challenging Program

Texas, and six other states, sued the federal government this week, arguing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is unconstitutional and should be ended.

The Trump administration announced last year it was ending the program, which was enacted in 2012, and gave Congress six months to approve a permanent solution. That deadline has come and gone. Meanwhile, other courts have required the federal government to continue DACA.
