Will Separating Families At Border Be A Deterrent For People Crossing Illegally?

At the San Diego and Tijuana border on Monday, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions outlined a “zero-tolerance” policy toward people who enter the United States illegally.

A protester shouted through a megaphone in the background as Sessions suggests the separation of children from their parents after crossing illegally, a statement that took many immigration advocates by surprise.

Bill Holston is the executive director of the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, a nonprofit that offers free legal services to asylum seekers, including unaccompanied minors.

Holston joined The Show to talk through the change.
