Scientists have noticed changes in freshwater storage — and some of those changes are due to human activity.

Using satellites, they’ve found some areas are getting wetter and some are getting dryer; the research has been going on for more than a decade and has identified 34 “hotspots” of water change across the globe. Jay Famiglietti is one of those researchers.

Famiglietti is the senior water scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, and he joined The Show to discuss this research.
