Judd Fire Burns 4,300 Acres North Of Bisbee

A wildfire is burning 4,300 acres just north of Bisbee. Fire officials said the fire was zero percent contained as of Saturday afternoon.

Tiffany Davila is with the Department of Forestry and Fire Management. She said the Judd Fire was started by lightning strikes Thursday night.

"We had a dry lightning system that moved through this area on Thursday that did pop off a few fires," Davila said. "Unfortunately, the Judd Fire was one that kind of took off just due to the landscape that it was in and the vegetation it was running through and the wind and everything associated with that storm that was passing through.”

Davila said the fire isn’t threatening any structures.
